“Hocus Pocus” (1993). Once upon a time, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and that lady from “Sister Act” who wasn’t Whoopi Goldberg agreed to play witches in a children’s Halloween movie. The resulting film ushered in hundreds of hours of entertainment for one of our hosts, and scarred the remaining two. Listen now as they dive into memories both fair and foul in this week’s The Dust Off!

Woodworking. Sure, we could make a whole bunch of “wood” jokes in this episode description but we’d like to think we’re bigger than that, OK? Jake and Pat try to recapture their shop class glory days, while Steve patiently makes sure they don’t cut their arms off. Needless to say, Steve looks pretty macho in this Dust Off instalment but what else is new, am I right?

Will Steph’s romatic dream of what a yard sale should be survive the day? Will the slow drive-bys from their neighbours amount to anything? Will anyone end up buying their old food processor? Tune in to find out!

“Groundhog Day” (1993) multiversal dramedy. Join the guys on a journey through time and space with our very special guest host (all the way from South Korea), Jon Ewart. We talk “Twilight Zone”, “Hannibal”, “There’s Something About Mary”, 90’s pop singer Robyn, and (naturally) Weird Al in our quest for the Windows 3.1 machine powering the entire multiverse. Strap in, sports fans, this season finale gets a bit dark and tragic. Will all of our hosts make it to season four?
Oh yeah, and we also talk about Bill Murray and Groundhog Day a bunch.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989) holiday comedy classic. They guys snuggle in with Kahlúa hot chocolates for an annual viewing of the John Hughes penned Chevy Chase vehicle to cap off our second season. Local Moncton cable stations will be revered, digital rental prices reviewed, Chris Columbus called out, “The Hero’s Journey” embarked upon, the stitching of Clark’s suede work gloves studied, and the parallels (finally) drawn between yuppies and hipsters. Season finales don’t get much better folks — Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where’s the Tylenol?
