026 – “They Aren’t Suppositories”

Released February 3, 2017

“Groundhog Day” (1993) existential comedy. The guys dig into some of Ramis and Murray’s finest work – but did they all watch the same movie? Steve screens the director’s commentary, Jake has trouble pronouncing “Tobolowsky”, and Pat’s yogging-related sickness turns out to be worse than thought. Things get weird when Pat is convinced that Jake and Steve are messing with him.

025 – “What About Bio-Dome”

Released January 27, 2017

“Groundhog Day” (1993) comedy classic. The guys shake up show format with a first-time situation involving this wacky (but still incredibly touching) Bill Murray / Harold Ramis team-up. Pat has trouble telling his Murray-meets-rodent movies apart, Steve gets lost in an HMV, Jake tries (and tries) to pronounce “Tobolowsky”, Huey Lewis, Hudson Hawk, and Bio-Dome are somehow referenced, sincere spiritual discussion ensues, and one of the guys may or may not start a new faith.

024 – “Jogging Or Yogging”

Released January 20, 2017

Jogging (or, yogging?). The guys lace up and hit the pavement for a good run – or, attempt to anyway. Will winter weather, life-threatening flu, and increased productivity stand in the way of us channeling our inner Rocky Balboas, Clarice Starlings, and Lester Burnhams? Yup. Well, that and old man aches, a lack of chasms to leap, and general butt grabbing between our hosts.

023 – “Ginormous Eye Roll”

Released January 6, 2017

New Years resolutions. The guys get together in our Kitchener studio for a first crack at 2017 in this mid-season special. After some snobbery from Steve and eye-rolling from Pat, the guys respond to listener feedback (thanks!) and talk a bit about things to come. Nothing’s dusted off in this episode, but we did put together a short video (linked below) of our speed resolutions experience.

Any Questions?

Released December 29, 2016

We love our listeners and want to show it. Much as we love hearing ourselves talk endlessly (looking at you, Stephen), we’d also love to hear from you!

Our third season is fast approaching (January 20th – mark your calendars!) and we have a very special stand-alone New Year special dropping the first week of 2017. It’s all about resolutions (no big surprise there). With that, we’re setting a resolution to keep you all in the loop and have you be part of the conversation.

022 – “A VCR In Every Room”

Released December 1, 2016

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989) holiday comedy classic. They guys snuggle in with Kahlúa hot chocolates for an annual viewing of the John Hughes penned Chevy Chase vehicle to cap off our second season. Local Moncton cable stations will be revered, digital rental prices reviewed, Chris Columbus called out, “The Hero’s Journey” embarked upon, the stitching of Clark’s suede work gloves studied, and the parallels (finally) drawn between yuppies and hipsters. Season finales don’t get much better folks — Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where’s the Tylenol?

021 – “Love The Blimp”

Released November 24, 2016

“A View to a Kill” (1985) James Bond film. The guys (minus Pat) take a blimp to the West coast and pick up special guest host Chris Nyarady on their way to flooding Silicon Valley. Mind your Bonds and Qs, dance into the fire, admire a restrained psychopath, and keep track of how many times we say “San Francisco”. Heck, we’d recommend a drinking game for that one — you’re going to need it for this Saturday morning cartoon Bond!

020 – “Thriftmas”

Released November 17, 2016

“Once Upon a Christmas” (1984) holiday album by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. After a yuletide trip to a local thrift shop, the guys are ready to sip peppermint mochas and dig into this country Christmas classic on vinyl. ‘Tis (not even close to) the holiday season, so let’s reminisce of the early-90’s country music boom while listening to Dolly carry Kenny through the entire record.

019 – “Earned His Moustache”

Released November 10, 2016

“Star Trek: Generations” (1994) movie. The guys leave their wood cabin and Ktarian eggs in the Nexus to board the Enterprise for an intergenerational adventure — a first for Jake! Shatner’s acting might will be tested, McDowell’s cashmere coat admired, 90’s Star Trek ubiquity mourned, and interstellar cartography scene-writing principles analyzed. The odds are against us and the situation’s grim, but it sounds like fun!

018 – “Fully Animated Digits”

Released November 3, 2016

“Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” (2002) Xbox game. The guys (minus Steve) roll up their blazer sleeves and crank A Flock of Seagulls for this go-’round with Rockstar North’s neon 1980’s follow-up to Grand Theft Auto III. Who better to help pilot RC helicopters and admire Hawaiian shirts than Jake’s improv comedy partner-in-crime and fellow expat Maritimer, our guest host, Jean-Michel Cliche.

Jack-O-Lanterns (or, carving pumpkins). The guys kick off the second season getting elbow deep in pumpkin guts. John Carpenter movies are referenced, knife recommendations are made, Steve goes into business leading jack-o-lantern seminars, and Jake finds his pumpkin a little far-gone.

016 – “You Mean Ro-BUTT-nik”

Released September 22, 2016

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” (1992) Sega Genesis game. In this, our season one finale, the guys dig deep into Steve’s Sega-kid origins to keep pace with the spinning blue hedgehog and his double-tailed sidekick — whose full name, we discovered, is Miles “Tails” Prower. Seriously.
